Sage Groups are a great way of connecting weekly online, in a small group setting, to learn, inquire and share, about Bhakti-yoga.

Session 7 will run from July 1st - August 24th
Registration for Session 7 runs from June 1st - 21st

Hey everyone, It gives us great pleasure to invite you to join a Sage Group. Thousands of people listen to Wisdom of the Sages Podcast every day, and we know that many of you would like to go deeper into the practice of Bhakti-yoga and are looking for a next step. That’s why we have Sage Groups, small weekly discussion groups.

Sage Groups are a place for people to share thoughts, questions, doubts, challenges, etc. as they try to incorporate Bhakti-yoga into their lives. Each group is facilitated by a more experienced Bhakti-yogi and they meet weekly online through Zoom. Since we began Sage Groups in November 2022 we’ve received constant feedback about just how much of a positive impact they’re having on people’s lives. We have several groups to choose from, with different leaders in different weekly time slots. Several of the groups are “open” meaning that anyone can be a participant and that there is no particular participant theme. Other groups have participant themes including Women’s Group, Men’s Group, LGBTQ group, Spanish Speaking Group, Married Life Group, Parents Group, Divorce Loss & Grief Group, Yoga Teachers Group and Krishnacore Group (for listeners into the musical genre Krishnacore).

You can read some more info on Sage Groups below. If you are interested and can commit to a weekly meeting we encourage you to join a group and give it a try. And please let us know how it goes.

Thanks and all the best,

Raghunath & Kaustubha

  • We want to develop deep friendships, and create a comfortable space to freely talk about our personal spiritual pursuit. We want to offer and receive support from trusted friends who share an interest in Bhakti-yoga.

  • Check-In (15-20 minutes): Going around the room, each member can share a bit about what has happened since the last meeting.

    Reading & Discussion (60 minutes):

Check out and Takeaways (5-10 minutes): Going around the group one more time and encourage each other for the week ahead.

  • The 4 Cs of the groups:

    1) Commitment

    - We show our commitment to one another by attending the meetings on a regular basis; we are there for each other.

    - Punctuality and attendance are important. If we cannot attend the meeting we should notify the WhatsApp group. The absent member can contact anyone in the group to learn what was discussed during the meeting that they missed.

    2) Confidentiality-

Confidentiality is probably the most important factor in the sage groups. It must be strictly adhered to in order for us to trust one another, open our hearts, and make progress. What’s said in the sage groups, stays in the sage groups.

    3) Confrontation

    - We are here for each other: We should go out of our way to provide positive feedback and support to our group members during the discussions.

    - We are encouraged to speak up and offer suggestions if a member is doing something that is detrimental to themselves or others.

    - We should feel comfortable standing up for ourselves and defend our viewpoints if we feel misunderstood.

    - We should feel safe to voice our concerns if a discussion crosses a boundary.

    4) Communication

    - We wish to be focused when listening to others. Our discussions should be honest and respectful, but they don’t have to be overly tame!

  • • Sage Groups are Free of Charge

    • To ensure adequate time for everyone to share, only 8 members are allowed in each group.
